Swollen lower lip

Today I notice Allies lower lip is swollen, at first I thought she was showing me tongue but its her lip..

She was playing with a chameleon yesterday, had it in her mouth for quite a while. She has been getting new wildside salmon treats and some new flavors of canned food..

Do I monitor it and if doesnt get better or gets worst make a vet trip or do it now? Shes eating and drinking and playing fine..

Hi Burt!
Hmmmm...it could be an allergic reaction, to something in the chameleons skin??
Definitely keep an eye on her, to make sure her nose doesn't start swelling as well!
Can you give your vet a call, just to ask some questions?
My vet has always been happy to help answer any concerns, I might have....
Hope she'll be OK soon!

I would keep an eye on her. As long as she's eating, drinking, eliminating then I'd wait and watch.

If she starts to have trouble breathing, stops eating/drinking/eliminating or swells worse, I'd get to an E-vet right away.

I keep diggin for information on google and low and behold what do I find....Lol i gave her the lizard to after she lost it b cause she was having so much fun running around with it in her mouth...

quote

It could be a reaction to a bite or sting. My previous cat used to catch lizards and sometimes they would bite her right on the lip and hang on. She usually wound up with a fat lip for a few days afterwards. The second picture looks kind of like the same thing. If the swelling doesn’t start going down by morning, you should take her to the vet to be safe.

Burt,
That sounds like a pretty logical assumption to me!
By the way, Allie has grown into a gorgeous girl!

Her lower lip is the same, its quite swollen, she plays eats and everything fine. If its not better on monday I will have to take her to the vet. It does not seem to give her pain or discomfort.

The vet will probably just give her steroids or something...

I can only assume it was the lizard she was playing with. I really hope so because I do not want her to be allergic to any food i feed her, it would be tedious to find out what..

I hope the swelling goes down by morning, I would feel much better and relaxed....

Allie still has a puffy lower lip, she had it since friday morning. Im hoping it goes down by friday because her vet appointment is on friday and I would love to cancel it..

I would have taken her on monday but they are booked until friday.

She is perfectly normal except for that blasted lip

Darn lizards.....I still think the culprit was the Anole Lizard

How did she catch hold of a chameleon? Sorry but here they are only pets.

I had something similar with a cat a few years ago - looked like a blood blister - but turned out to be nothing - hope the same is true for you.
