Do I really need senior cat food?

Cat is 13. Really want to switch her from Whiskers (4% meat..) to something with far more in it. Ideally I would love Canagan but its so expensive. I was recommended Hi life which I gave a trial pouch to cat which she loved. Problem is they don't do senior food! Would the regular adult food do? Unsure what to do help

The vast majority of high quality canned foods do not have a senior formula. It's more of a marketing gimmick than anything. Switching to a high quality canned/pouched food is the best thing you can do for your cat, way better than giving a lower quality senior formula.

I had a feeling it might be a sales gimmick. Can't say I'm surprised to find its true. Thanks for the info!
