Question New 2yo not eating

Hello, i just recently got a new cat from the shelter about a week ago. He's been doing really good at getting used to his new home, he's using his litter box perfectly and is exploring the house, even playing with his toys. but he's only ever ate a small amount of food at a time. so yesterday we decided to try a new type of wet and dry food. so far he hasn't touched the dry food at all, and he only ate a couple small chunks of his (duck) wet food before getting the hiccups and laying down. Today we tried a different brand of wet food and he hasn't touched it either. is this normal??

a little more information; he's a 2 year old maine coon mix, about 15.5 pounds, who's very lazy. he just recently started pooping and his new diet is wellness while his previous diet was science diet , his background we believe he was a stray, and didn't have his respiratory shot that they knew of

Thanks!
