Hi cat people,
My cat can't eat dry food; it always makes her vomit. So I'm wondering how much wet food a day is alright. I am giving her one can of Blue Buffalo a day, but she's often hungry. Would it be okay to give her more?
I never really bothered with how much to feed; if my girls gained weight, I fed a little less. But it really depends on the weight of your kitty and how active she is - and also on the calorie content of the food, because it can vary quite a bit.
If I remember, the general guidelines to figure out how much to feed are about 30-35 calories per pound. For most kitties, it seems that a 5.5-oz can a day is about right. But check the number of calories. Foods in gravies tend to be lower in calories than pates.
