In need of help, kitty with lymphoma

Hello everyone. I really want to post into health and nutrition but I canít as Iím a new member

I really need some help I feel like I canít cope so here goes,
Nice to meet you everyone my names claire. My kittyís name is MIssy sheís 16. The last few weeks sheís been vomiting a fair bit. I took her to the vet she did some routine bloods because of the holidays it took forever to get these results back which came up clear. I booked her in as a emergency appointment Saturday last week as she got worse. Vet told me she needed a scan which couldnít be done til thursay which was yesterday.
Her symptoms got worse as now she couldnít keep any food down or pass stool. She was passing bloody mucas she kept trying to force going to the toilet it was breaking my heart as she couldnít keep anything down. And what did go down he wasnít passing properly.
Yesterday they did a ultrasound and to be honest the vet didnít give me many options. She said itís probably lymphoma small cell. Or really bad case of ibd but all she offered was steroids. She didnít help with what food to give her nothing. I left yesterday really angry I basically had to beg for answers or what could be done and all I got back she might have to be put to sleep if she doesnít eat ?? They donít seem to get it. Sheís like a kitten in herself. Sheís not aging unwell itís just be lumps blocking her being able to absorb food. I tried her with chicken baby food last night. Small bit of tuna. And his morning some pate wet food but she brought that back up. I donít know whatís best to feed her or do. Iím so scared and mixture of angry from feeling like my baby wasnít given any help.

I'm sorry to hear about your Missy....I've have had several cats around her age go through what she is now, and when it first happened that my "Missy" could not keep food down, I felt distressed too. The vet told you Missy will "have to be put to sleep if she doesn't eat". The decision you face now is Missy in any pain and suffering? The kindest thing you can do for her is to let her go quickly and peaceably. This is always one of the toughest, most heart-rending decisions you'll ever make. Prayers for you and Missy.

Thank you for the reply.
Sheís had a few days of steroids now. Sheís been able to pass some stool itís runny but itís stool not blood. And sheís trying to eat. Problem is missy is so fussy. Sheís asking for food but sheís only taking small mouthful. The only thing she will eat a full bowl of is tuna in spring water. Is there any food you could suggest thatís like pate really smelly food. Iíll try anything. I can see sheís still fighting. Sheís not in pain when she gets a spurt of energy she chases after her toys. I feel like sheís just being her fussy self even more so now some foods have made her sick
Thank you x

My cats sometimes get in a picky eating mode, but Fancy Feast (comes in difference flavors and textures) usually gets them eating again. It's my go-to food when other food doesn't appeal.....I remember when I used to show cats, Fancy Feast cans were given to the show exhibitors---it got the name of "Kitty Crack" pretty quickly. I know some cats can get so addicted to it that they refuse other foods. So I never keep my guys on it for long. Glad to hear Missy is better.
