bottlefed kitten advice needed

My name is Ashley and I recently got my first bottlefed baby kitty!! Its super hard and sometimes frustrating with this little guy because it seems like he cries all the time, just like a coliky human baby. And hates being picked up or manipulated as well and screams and twists around, which makes trying to make him potty difficult. I have so many questions from people who have experience with bottlefed babies and also some encouragement. I know it will be worth it but this kitty is so stubborn!

Hi Ashley . . . I'm bottle feeding a 2-wk old kitten right now and having some of the problems you are. I've decided that the nipple I'm using might be too big so I've ordered one of the Miracle mini type, hoping that will make things easier. I wrap my little guy up in a cloth, like a burrito, to start with. Have also tried sitting him on a counter and holding his head. It's all very awkward and we end up with lots of KMR on me and my clothes, and the cloth. Have you watched the Kitten Lady's videos on YouTube? She makes it look so easy.

I have another foster kitten that I bottle fed for a couple of weeks. He liked to clench the nipple in his jaws and refuse to let go or take in any milk. I think he just got tired of the taste, cause now he's eating solid food and drinking mostly water.

Each one is an individual, for sure!

I've found that an eye dropper works better for the very young ones that don't seem to know what to do with a nipple, other than chew on it. I warmed the KMR in a cup then suctioned the milk up into the dropper from the cup. It's much easier to control the flow of the milk than with a bottle.
