Desinfecting cat carrier, etc

I'll be taking two feral kittens to the vet tomorrow; I was thinking of using my plastic cat carrier, though I'm concerned about 'popcorning' (cat freaking out trying to get out) and most importantly the carrier hasn't been cleaned since last week when I brought their mother from the vet.
Before that it was used by the cat that has FIV.
I've always washed it with soapy water to clean it..I know traps are washed and desinfected with bleach and water, do you think soapy water will be enough to clean it, or how plastic would react to bleach..never had used bleach in the carrier so I don't know ..
I think I should have another carrier for my cat so that she doesn't use the ferals' (somehow so far we've gotten 2 ferals to the vet in a carrier not by choice) even if they are healthy they could carry all kind of bacteria on their fur, etc.
I have a trap so I can use that one too. Anyways can I clean that carrier with bleach? Thank-you very much

So the carrier is plastic?
I would think you could use bleach on that. Maybe after you cleaned it with bleach, you could use soapy water on it. Not sure though.

Since bleach absorbs into plastic...after you wash it, let it dry in the sun for 1+ days.

Take Care,

bleach is ok, it doesn't take much bleach in a water solution to be effective.
