Opinions needed on alternating foods

Aphro (short for Aphrodites... I'd love to post some pics, but I don't know how.. ) is on Nutro's Max Cat Gourmet Classics for Kittens as well as Nutro's Natural Choice Complete Care for kittens and it is a complete success... her stools are waayyyy less stinky and she seems to like to snack on it. I was also thinking of feeding her the pouches Nutro has available for kittens.

Ok.. so here's the dilemma.. since I'm a poor college student, I have very limited funds (but do not want to feed my kitten solely crap.. aka Meow mix or whatever), but I was wondering what everyone's opinion was about alternating Nutro wet food with something like Fancy Feast wet food or similar brands while keeping the same Nutro dry food. For example, Nutro wet in the morning and Fancy Feast wet at night (or something similar).

Any opinions/suggestions/comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't see any problem with it*. Try it and let your cat tell you (one way or another ) whether it's working out.

*there is a slight risk of your cat preferring the Fancy Feast because of its strong taste and then rejecting the other foods.

Personally, I like Fancy Feast canned foods and I know many cats who lived 20+ years with them. They also have the highest taurine level (0.227273%) on a dry weight basis. Cats do very well on Fancy Feast

You can buy Fancy Feast for 33 cents a can at Sam's Club

With Nutro, you can get $20 worth coupons through the Frequent Buyer Program on www.nutroproducts.com You can also get $5 coupons at your local animal shelter.

I ALWAYS MIX good foods with crap foods. It is the only way I can get my cats to eat good foods AND their taurine and chlorophyll supplements Currently I have my own Meow Mix recipe with twelve different foods. I buy each food on sale. I buy the smallest bags with coupons. I also have Rubbermaid Cereal Containers (I swear on those) to help me protect the quality of my dry foods.

Mine choose their food on a nightly basis... i get a few kibbles of each out and whichever boomer goes to first they get. Now they are on JUST Innova Evo, but it always worked well before when we were letting them choose between the different dry ones.
