Animal Vaccine Warning

From my cat group (the dog isn't mine):

Date: Sat, 2 Jul 2005 16:59:17 -0400

I want to warn everyone against using any animal related vaccines,
drugs, etc. manufactured by Fort Dodge Animal Health. My buddy Hunter (a very healthy and active 13 year old mixed breed) received vaccines last week (that I later found were manufactured by Fort Dodge) and within 9 hours he was ill. By the next morning he had great difficulty in getting up from a lying or sitting position and could hardly walk. I brought him to emergency and found that he had a very high temperature. He was treated with anti-inflammatory drugs and I was instructed to carefully monitor his temperature for several days. After 72 hours he seems to be
back to normal. But I don't want to see anyone's pet have to go through

I understand from a friend that this company is known to send out bad
batches of vaccines (i.e. contaminated). I also did a quick search
online and came up with some negative info. that can be found at the
links below. Please forward this to anyone with pets...

i dont know if this has anything to do with your story, years ago i vaccinated my cat with a fort dodge vaccine, that night he layed on the floor and could not lift his head,he acted like he was in pain, next night i had to rush him to an emergecny clinic, because of a high fever, they sent me home w/antibiotics ,but it did nothing for him ,i had to take him to a different vet, where they did lots of blood work and gave different antibiotics.bloodwork came back normal,so i think it was the vaccine.

Got this from my cat group from another member:

I would just like to say that my vet has always used products from fort dodge and I have NEVER had any complications with any of my animals. He has been using fort dodge on my animals for over 10 years. I would also like to point out that there is a possability that ANY company can send out a 'BAD' batch of vaccines or medications.
