How many times a day...?

How many times a day should I feed my cat? I tend at the moment to feed him two or three times a day.

Once at breakfast, which consists of dried food (for cats) and milk (for cats)

Once at lunchtime, which consists of half a pouch of those chicken in gravy type things

And SOMETIMES once in the evening, which is the same as breakfast.

Is that an ok way to feed my cat, or is there a better way?

That sounds alright, but be sure that there is fresh water out at all times

I feed twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. It's much better for your kitty to have timed meals then to free feed all day

You will probably get a few different views on what the best way to feed it.

I have read several books and have been advised by my vet to feed cats multiple small meals a day. It is better to feed them 5 or 6 smaller meals than 2 or 3 larger ones.

With that being said I know it can be hard to feed your cat 6 times a day. I try to and find that she doesn't gobble her food. I was feeding her 3 times a day and everytime I would put the food down, she would just run to eat and scarf it down like she had not eaten in days. I now feed her the same amount of food, but their is not such a mad rush to eat.

I divide my cat's can of food into 5 smaller meals, feeding her every 4 hours during the day. I'm at home during the day so it works out for me. She seems to enjoy her smaller more frequent meals.

You say "sometimes" in the evening. Because you have an irregular schedule? I'd try to stick with the same feeding schedule every day with a cat. They like a routine.
