I need some help

My cat has started slobbering and drooling ALOT! He is about 4 years old now, and in the past 3-4 days, we have noticed him slobbering ecessively. At first, we noticed it when he is was laying on my husbands lap, there were wet spots on my husbands jeans and we thought his nose was just running, or had a cold. But last night was awful. Where ever he laid on the bed, there were spots wet enough to soak through the bedspread and the sheet, and mattress cover. We found 3 spots like that! Anyone have any ideas? I called around and there aren't even any emergancy clinic open today because of the FOOT of snow we got last night. so I would be greatful for any help

Sorry about the double posting. I posted in one forum and then saw the Health forum so reposted

Sorry to hear about your cat.

Have you tried calling your own vet? At least it would be helpful to speak with a vet over the phone so you have some idea what's going on. That would be the best thing under the circumstances.

One of my cats had an infection that made his mouth sore and caused him to drool. A bad tooth could be the cause also. These are the only things that I can think of, and really, any of us would just be guessing.

I'm going to move your post over to the Health and Nutrition forum. Best of luck.
