anyone experience FIP in a kitten

My kitten tested positive for FIP and the vet said it was probably brought on from being spayed. He wants to get her tested for FIP and for an abcess from the surgery with an ultrasound. Cost could be $450.
Any ideas?

Well I think I would want to shop around for a cheaper alternative, but that's so hard to judge from here, I don't know much about your Vet but I believe your kitten is obviously very important to you.

FIP Questions

My kitten had the same problem after he was neutered last year. Unfortunately, after three weeks of treatments and $1,500 we had to have him put down. FIP has a very bad track record, is quiet complicated to diagnose and attempt to treat. Here are some links I highly recommend you look at if you have time, this may help you make your decisions. My heart goes out to you.
