cat vomiting

Lately I have noticed cat vomit in my basement. I have two cats, so I wasn't sure which one was vomiting. Now I have found it is my male cat, as he just tried to eat, and vomited twice. I have not changed any food. Both cats have been eating Nutro Max Cat for a long time now. Any ideas on what this could be? It is not a hairball, it is vomit with food.

Your kitty might be regurgitating the food. He is either eating too fast, too much, or both. If so, you might want to monitor their eating habits and feed them pre-measured portions.
Keep us posted !

How long is lately?

How old is your cat?

When was his last check-up?

ever had his teeth cleaned?

2 of mine were puking and Vet thought it may have been due to bacteria from poor dental hygene.

Does he drink fluids at all?

If it's been going on for more then a few days, I would bring him in for a check up.

My 15-year-old vomited for a while pretty regularly. Like you, it was not hairballs - only food. Had him checked out and he was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Vomiting is one of the signs of this. Definitely have him checked out.
