Phantom pregnancy?

Hi, I've got 2 cat's one who's 11 months and one who's just over 3 months old. I posted a few questions on this forum regarding their introduction which has gone absolutely fine (thankyou). They are now best of friends, playing like mad with each other. Over the last couple of weeks my older cat has developed an obsession with cleaning my little kitten. I don't see any problem with this (both seem to enjoy it). It's probably just my older cat taking on a 'mothering' role. However, just recently I've noticed on my older cat, on her tummy I can feel two soft bumps (almost as if her nipples have enlargened for her to be lactating) Could this be possible? They bumps don't seem to be painful and she's perfectly happy in herself.

Would appreciate any advice as it may save me an unneccessary trip to the vets.

We had this happen with a dog once. Although, she was NOT spayed at the time. It really looked to all that she was pg. Even the vet at first thought she was pg. With her, all of her nipples swelled up, not just a few.

I'd call you're vet and ask what they think. They may or may not think it warrents a visit.
