Play with his Kibble

Mason is a great cat and a good eater. He likes his Felidae dry and his good cans of wet food (I alternatoe) but he plays with his kibble. He likes to paw a few pieces out of his dish which is on a table, play with it, each a few, toss a few more over the edge onto the floor and then dive bomb off the table to get them and eat those pieces....

I find this so strange. Really going to have problems in the summer with ants..when they coming back.

Anyone else's cat do this?

Yes. My 8 month olds will play hockey with their dry food. They don't do it every time they eat, just when they are really hyper. In a way, I think when they chase their food and eat it that it is like they are catching their prey in the wild.

Yes, I think this is their natural instinct to catch their prey. Very cute. But I can see your worry about the ants.
