DE worming stray cats YUCK

Today my vet gave me few de wormer pills that he reccomend I give the stray cat anyways i guess this cat is not use to getting pills because I struggled with him to get them inside his mouth it was a hard process and i got scratched up pretty bad! He also started foaming and drooling at the mouth because the pill would go in then come back out and it would get all wet and soggy well i FINALLY GOt the pill in him and he did not spit it back out so I guess that means he swallowed it? BUt he just had so much drool hanging from his mouth looked like he was rabid lol is that normal??

PS i cant get sick from getting scratched can i?

Cats often drool after having swallowed a deworming pill.

Those scratches should be cleaned well and treated with antiseptic ointment. Otherwise, they may get infected. There's a very small risk of getting an illness known as "cat scratch fever" -- the risk is higher if it's an outdoor cat, so that applies to your situation. If you get sick, be sure to tell the doctor you were scratched by a cat.

In the future try crumbling pills in tuna or other smelly food your cat will eat.
