cracked peeling paws

i have just recently noticed that my 7 month old male kitten has cracked and peeling paws...it almost reminds me of shedding because he does have a paw skin(?) underneath...also reminds me of scabs because it looks like scabs peeling

he doesnt seem to be in pain, even when i touch his paw

has anyone had this happened to their cat?

any ideas what it is?

Are you talking about cracked paw PADS? Other members here whose cats have had that recommend something called "Bag Balm" which is usually sold for horses and cows. So I suppose a farm and feed store is where to look for it. I'm not sure where else you can find it.

But perhaps you should take your cat to the vet anyway so you know whether or not that treatment is appropriate, or whether you're dealing with something else that need veterinary treatment.

Keep us posted.

You can also find bag balm at Wal-Mart in the pharmacy section where they put the foot stuff. It's great for dry and cracked people feet too.

As Tim said, a trip to the vet is probably a good idea.
