Troubled moggy!

Can anyone help?My 9 Month tabby has got a heart murmur and has gone from being a lively kitten to a depressed flumpy mog. Is this life threatening ? I need to cheer him up as he is looking soo unhappy!

I'm assuming a vet told you your cat has a heart murmur. There's a whole range of severity of heart murmurs. Indeed, there's a whole range of interpreting heart sounds as murmurs. You should discuss the implications of the diagnosis with your vet. Only he/she knows what they are. Many cats live a normal life with that diagnosis. And discuss your cat's behavior change. There's a good possibility it has nothing to do with the heart murmur.

There are medications to help your cat feel better. He may be filling up with fluid which will zap his energy. A simple diuretic and a medication to help the heart pump more efficiently will help him feel better. Any vet should be able to make an accurate diagnosis with ultra sound and blood work.
