The Power of The People!

A Super Bowl commercial that was due to air during the halftime, that was a Godaddy.com one....has been pulled...
GoDaddy's CEO said the people had spoken, and had been heard...

It was a truly tasteless commercial...

I heard about it when my NAPPS message board lit up yesterday!
And Holy Smokes, people were totally PO'd about it!
A petition was already circulating, and I added my name to it.
Several people on NAPPS pulled their accounts immediately off of GoDaddy!
The ASPCA weighed in on it all to, along with many other organizations!

The commercial featured a Golden Retriever (Lab?) Puppy, that first falls out of the back of a truck, and basically, manages to find its way back home, where it runs to a lady in the barn, who first seems just happy to see the puppy...next shot, it shows this puppy in some kind of a van, and the woman is saying, "You're outta here!"

Yes! The People had Spoken!!up:up:

The commercial was about being happy the puppy came back because she had just sold him on a website she created on GoDaddy. It was never meant to air on Sunday, it was leaked just to create a buzz, which is has.

Disgusting. I hate those people.

Yeah, people were saying it looked like it supported BYB's, etc...
GoDaddy said "Well, it was meant to be funny..."
But whether it was meant to be shown or not...GoDaddy just got one hec of a wake-up call!

I just read this article and was able to see the commercial. The puppy braved all the elements to get back home, making me cry. (Okay, I'm hormonal right now!)

It was meant to be funny when they shipped him back out but it came off cold and uncaring.

It was good they pulled it. I did NOT like the ending.

Did not see the commercial, but it sounds bad. Glad they pulled it out.

Funny - to whom! You want a puppy commercial with a punch. I love this one.

And this is how you treat a lost puppy!

Cat Owner Again, I'm glad you posted the new Budweiser commercial. I was panning down to do JUST that.

It really offsets the tasteless godaddy crap.

GoDaddy has always grossed me out, I've always thought they were just distasteful to get attention so this doesn't surprise me whatsoever. But this one was low even for them. I am SO glad it got pulled! The people have definitely spoken.
