Angry Well, this is really depressing...

Saxon came from a rescue which, unknown to us, had been brought to the attention of the SPCA a few years earlier. The organizer had something like more than 60 cats in a very small house. The case was thrown out on a technicality.
Three years later we saw an ad for Saxon on Kijiji and inquired about him. This woman insisted on bringing him to our place instead of us driving out to her town to visit him. Truth to tell, she made me uneasy, but I fell head over heels in love with him and there was no way I was going to let him go back with her. He stank of ammonia and had an eye infection that eventually was diagnosed and treated with oral antibiotics.
Fast forward five years, she's been raided again. This time she has more than 100 cats in the same space. If only the court hadn't given her the benefit of the doubt that first time, she wouldn't have been able to do it again so easily.
I'm going to hug Saxon and tell him how glad I am that we got him out of there.

Gee whiz! Some people have no concept of limitations. I'd say *nobody* can keep about 100 cats in a small house. I had 8 in a big house with acres of land for them to run in.. and that was a challenge to keep up with. Vet, food, fleas, bites, etc. Your Saxon was lucky.

Sad. We have this kind of thing in our area too, it comes up every year.... there'll be some new animal-hoarder brought to court. I know they often mean well, but ... ???

Same here. I've always felt that two was the perfect number - enough to keep each other company when I'm out of the house, not so many that they get on each other's nerves and start fighting.
