Big Party at the Jellicle Lair

This is the time of year that several of the tribe's "Gotcha days" seem to run close together. Soooo, as I always have the 4th of July off from work, instead of several little gotcha days over a week or two, we roll them all into one big Happy Gothca Hootenanny!

And here are the "Gotcha Day" Jellicles......

The Diva, Etcetera D'Calico, her Majesty the Queen
July 5th, 2002

Skimbleshanks, the Hobo June 24th, 2004

...and, Peanut Butterum and Sassy Sasparilla June 29th, 2005

Mike, you have such cute kitties! I guess I am partial to the orange ones! Do both of them have orange/copper eyes?

Congratulations, Mike! How did you get Peanut and Sassy on the same day? (They're probably related, but I can never tell by looking!)

Peanut Butterum, Hobo Skimbleshanks, AND Blondie Rumpleteaser all have copper colored eyes. My 4th red and white is the new kid, Freeway Carbuckety....his eyes seem to be headed more in the direction of a deeper brown...but it's all good

Peanut and Sassy were surrendered to the shelter as a bonded pair. They tried to adopt them out for several months as a pair, but people would be interested in one, but never both. Peanut was downright anti-social, getting highly upset is someone were to take her out of her cage. So, I sponsored half their adoption fee to make them more adoptable, but still no takers. Finally after 5 months they told me that they would either have to split them up, or put them back in the old shelter and back on "the countdown clock". But, the director said, "You've paid half the fee....if they were to go 2 for 1, then it's already paid....if you've got the room?????"

So, they moved in

As it turned out, Peanut is a lovebug....but she is totally deaf, and her bestest bud Sassy is her ears. All she was crying about in the shelter was being taken out of the cage alone. I could carry both of them around the building and she'd be giving me little "licky kisses"
