Shadow boxing; for real

Today is going to be another blistering hot day, so I decided to not let the sun in at all today, and closed all the blinds.

Having the blinds at the birdfeeder closed let Freeway and Hobo discover a brand new game, that so far, has kept them entertained for the last hour and a half;

Hummingbird shadow boxing

So funny... it's better than kitty tv!
The dim light and the texture of the blinds make a gorgeous picture too

Haha! Too funny! Doesn't look they stopped at all to wonder what was wrong with the coloring.

CUTEST THING EVER.

Aside: apologies if I'm telling you something you already know, but many people prefer not to use red-dyed hummingbird nectar. There's no scientific studies about the saftey of the red dye one way or the other but there are some suspicions based on anecdotal evidence that it might be bad for the hummer's livers. Also, sugar water is cheaper.

Thank you, that's an excellent point to make. I've been using my own sugar/water mix (4:1 mix) for a couple of years now, with a couple drops of red food coloring. The coloring is more for my benefit, so I can tell the level of food in the feeder from a distance.

Just thought I'd pass it on.

This makes me want to put a hummingbird feeder up for my kitties, but I don't have anyplace to put one. (I'm not sure if I would actually get any hummers, either.)
