That time of year again

Yes, it's that time of year. I put the cat's heat lamp up last night

They love it, and it keeps them from laying on the heater vents. It's hard to keep a house warm when every vent in the house has a cat laying on it

That's a good idea, Mike. Is that just a normal lamp or some kind of special warming light?

It's just a plain of infrared heat lamp, like they use in chicken houses. You just have to hang it at least 24 inches from the floor. I use the white bulb instead of the red, there is actually no difference in the type of heat, just the visible light. Apparently, the red helps preserve night vision for people going in and out of the lighted area a lot at night.
