Better check my new equipment refund policy!

There seems to be a problem!

Was setting up some stuff for a practice portrait shoot with my sister this weekend, and of course, Lucy has to get into EVERYTHING! I turned around for one minute, and she crawled under my softbox. The funny thing is, it isn't hollow in there! There is a pc of fabric that closes the front end where she is under, so she has to be pretty flat under there! LOL, Dave and I just laugh and shake our heads!

Re: Better check my new equipment refund policy!

I need to return my softbox.
Reason for the return, Ma'am?
There's a cat in it.
Cat hair?
No. A whole cat.
Um, I'll be right back. I need to call my manager. Wait here, please.

*muffled, behind a door*
A cat! Yeah! She said a cat! No, not just a hair, a whole cat! What do I do? I wasn't trained for this! This was definitely not covered in the manual! Yeah! Yeah. Okay. Yup. I've gotcha. Okay. Thanks. Bye.

*employee returns to counter*
We'll need you to UPS it to the softbox repair center. It appears this is a common problem and they were about to send out a recall on all of the products to fix this design problem. Please include a copy of your receipt and it will take the repair center about two weeks to fix your cat problem.

Looks suspiciously like a cat toy to me . I think you should tell the company and they can do a whole new line of marketing of their product to cat owners.

Too Funny!

I can't remember if I read this somewhere or if Holly's breeder mentioned it....Anyway, Maine Coons have the ability to make themselves very flat, it's almost like their bones just collapse, it's called floundering. It's quite possible that Lucy has this trait somewhere in her lineage...

Re: Better check my new equipment refund policy!

Yes, that is interesting about the Maine Coons Doodle! Dave and I have often wondered if she might have some specific breed traits. One other thing she does that is just so funny, aside from acting like a dog, is when you pick her up, she just goes limp in your arms. Another thing I just find so funny, is she will just plop on her sides. She could be standing one minute, and just fall flat down on her side because she feels like laying down. If she's in my way, and won't move, I will sometimes try to push her aside, but she will not move. She falls flat and limp, and I have to slide her with my feet. When the Cats 101 shows aired, Dave heard the "going limp in your arms" as being a trait of Ragdolls, and he also wondered if that might be in her background somewhere also.

Re: Better check my new equipment refund policy!

Well, since cat breeds are created by taking several cats that exhibit specific traits and breeding them to ensure that these traits appear consistently, it's just as likely that Lucy had ancestors that trace back to these foundation cat lines as it is that she has a purebred in her recent lineage. The fact that she has multiple traits that are not common amongst several breeds probably speaks more to the former than the latter.
