Unfortunately, unless a cat comes with a pedigree, there really is no way
to tell what specific "breed" they are, though some are more noticeable
(flat face, long fur, no fur, pointed) than others (like the 'blue' breeds of
Korat, Russian Blue and British Blue).
You can usually pick out some specific genetic markers, but it is very
difficult to actually pin down a breed. Riley is a DSH, which is the
common term for Domestic Short Hair, though I think her hair is a bit
longer than short, but not long enough to be long, and while I will use
DMH (medium), I don't think it is 'professionally' recognized. She is
black-based in color, with agouti, and her tabby pattern is *I think*
Mackerel striped, or Mackerel with broken or spotted stripes.
I really love the sweet expresion on her face and her large ears.
