Guess who got a Meezer?! :-D

Meeeeeeeeeee!

My quilting friend's son and new daughter-in-law just got their Air Force orders to be stationed in England. They checked into taking their kitten (he's about 7-8mo old) and had the $650 airfare set aside and all his health paperwork in order, THEN, they were de-railed with the 6mo quarantine, charged daily. It was going to wind up costing over $2k and this is a newly married couple, they just don't have that much money to spend on pets, yet.

I had gone over to visit (my friend's husband has cancer in his lungs, liver and bones) and while everyone was visiting and talking about the costs and how attached this girl was to her cat ... I could see that it would be a financial hardship on them, so I offered to give their kitty a home with me. I told her I could either long-term foster him until they could have him with them or she could just give him to me outright. I was impressed that everyone left the decision up to her, without trying to pressure her either way, and after two days she called me and asked if I would take him to give him a home and of course I agreed.

They came over tonight, because I wanted her to see our home and our cats. I felt it would be important for her to *know* he was in a great home.
They brought him with them! So tonight, was the night I got a Meezer!
He was in the carrier, laying down and relaxed while 6 of our 8 came up to 'greet' him and he only growled a few times, asking for a bit more space. I had them help me carry in the dog-crate from the back patio and we set it up in the living room. I've got a sheet and towel hung for privacy and he is relaxed and just checking things out.

He is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Unfortunately he is also de-clawed, so I get to learn about that.
He'll need a name change, as he's named after an Air Force General. I am sort of leaning towards "Sky" because of his blue eyes.

He's GORGEOUS!!! I'm coming to get him. No need to thank me, Heidi. I know you'd do the same for me. I insist...really, I insist. LOL!

Oh, Renee, I'd welcome you to my home with open arms ... and a plane ticket to your own address so I could choose one of your cats, too!

Nope. No specific breed. He simply has the siamese pointed gene pair, no agouti and a moderate amount of white spotting as all four legs are white.

Get used to hearing a lot of chatter.

I love this. Its like me sticking my fingers thru the cages at a rescue.

The last time people tried to elimate free roaming cats it resulted in The Black Plague.

How exciting! People's signatures need updating left and right around here!

He's a beauty and I bet your friend was really relieved to know he was going to such a good home. It sounds like they needed the break.

Congrats......

It looks like Floofy is welcoming him to the family!! He really looks relaxed in the pictures, and is gorgeous

You could call him General
