Hiding from the cold

I came home from work the other day and I saw one eye peeking out from the top bunk from under a blanket. I guess it was a little chilly for Leo.

I need to find some way to heat my basement apartment better because this morning I found Teddy burrowed under the covers at my feet and he generally never digs under the covers.

It hasn't been too cold here . . . maybe he was just building a fort?

I live in Gaithersburg so my weather isn't that different from your's, but my basement is already down below 60 degrees and the dampness is making it worse. I need to clear the crap away from my fireplace and buy a cord of wood

Yeah, being in a basement makes a difference too. Actually, I think we're within about 10 miles of each other! I work in North Bethesda.

Aww... that's cute. One of my cats actually started burrowing under the covers the past few days. Was a big surprise for us!

On the dampness issue.... do you own a dehumidifier? That should help some. I know there are different levels of extremes with them, but my brother lived in a basement apartment for a while at his friend's house. It got terribly damp, and he couldn't live without his.

I have a de-humidifier (it will also help with the issue of the cold because it generates heat as it condenses the water out of the air) but I haven't been running it because it makes the water in my fish tank evaporate that much faster. That won't be a problem because I intend to dismantle my fish tank by the end of the week.

Hey, does anyone want 4 nice, big, fat Yoyo loaches? I would be willing to drive them to you if you were under an hour and a half away from gaithersburg MD

Peek-a-boo! You could get a cat heating pad if it is too cold in the apartment for the kitties while you are gone.
