Talking new tower for the kitties

I got this new tower for the cats last year. But i kept it in another room for them. They never touched it. So last week i brought it up to my bedroom and now they cats love it and play on it all the time.

So how come they wouldnt play on it when it was in the other room? The other room was where they(blue & brynie)would eat there food. It was next to a window too. oh well. here are 2 pics of blue & brynie enoying the tower.

I have gotten the same reaction from moving cat towers before. I think it has something to do with the stimulation of it seeming like a new toy when it's been moved to a new location.

Also, with newer cat furniture it seems that sometime it takes a while for the "new" smell to become familiar enough for them to feel comfortable with it. We got our boys a new tower this last spring and it was universally ignored for the first month, and now it's used every day.
