Meet DeeDee, my new VERY preggers foster baby momma.

I brought home DeeDee last night from the shelter looking like she is ready to pop! She is HUGE. She is so sweet and readily offered my belly so I could massage it for her. I'm sure it felt good.

She is safe and comfy in my foster room and has the run of it. I hope she chooses one of 2 places I have set up in quiet, dark corners to have her babies but we'll see. You never know with mommas.

All the babies will be named with D's.

She must have been covered in fleas and had tons of dead worms when she finally pooped! They gave her flea meds and worm meds which I am thankful for. I found 2 dead fleas in the water dish this am. Probably tried to jump ship before dying from the meds. The meds they give them kills live fleas and the hatching larve. She is not scratching so fiercely today and seems more comfortable.

Agree with bluemilk on this one... those big eyes in that narrow face, she's the epitome of a Halloween cat! Beautiful!

Ok, this thread I will make certain I keep track of!
I don't know what's going on, I click thread tools, click on subscribe (do what I've done multiple times before) but all I get is a blank page.
Meet My Kitty; Meet DeeDee...no problem.

DeeDee is beautiful and her babies are going to be so precious! Does being loaded with worms affect the babies/pregnancy?
I'm hoping for tons of pics and videos!

spirite, you are right, I did! I went from Sunday afternoon to Wednesday afternoon with NO BABIES - I was going through withdrawal!! At our large municipal shelter, a foster mom is gainfully employed most, if not all, of the time!

KsKatt, no the worms will not harm her now, and she is so much more comfortable without the fleas. Left untreated it's not good but the worm meds kill only the worms and don't harm the momma (or any other cat/kitten).

As of today, Friday, still no babies. She is happy in the foster room by herself. She likes to perch herself (and her girth) on the cat tree and look out the window.
