Peek-a-boo

Our regular visitor to the window feeder. She wasn't sitting, she was in a hover, which made focusing on her a real bear

It took about a dozen shots to get this one

That's excellent, Mike! I'd probably have to mortgage the house to buy a camera like that. And then, I'd have to learn how to be a photographer! I love humming birds.

So cool, and beautiful!
That's a great picture, Mike. Did you use single point focusing?

I tried single point because the camera kept trying to focus on the nectar bottle or the "leaves" around the feeding stations in the auto setting. But with the darting and head bobbing, it didn't have time to focus, so I gave up and shot it in manual focus. It took several tries And having a layer of glass covered with kitty nose prints between us didn't help matters all that much either.

Cool photo! I'm a bit of a birdo myself, although I'm not very familiar with American birds. I think it's incredible how fast hummingbirds' wings can move, I think I read somewhere that because they use more energy than other birds in flight, they have to basically hibernate every night to conserve their energy!
