Ack! I recall the Deputies of the Sheriff Department I worked for (2000-2001) talking about that man and his case! I've also watched a tv special about it/him. I think he was married with two daughters who had no clue as to what he was doing?
I also understand his Corvette was finally tracked down with a new owner, who allowed officers to examine it and they found DNA evidence (MANY years after the fact!) embedded in the carpet flooring. What makes the car memorable to me is that the 'vette forum I belong to posted about it when that particular Corvette was going to be auctioned on eBay and it generated a large discussion.

I got an exact opposite take on those 2 movies. I loved Manchurian Candate w/ Denzel. [I also love the original].

The Departed did nothing for me cause I found it so implausible and the Jack Nicholson character was totally unbelieveable to me too.

It's usually a joy to watch him. He's an excellent actor. I might rent that movie--only because he's in it. I don't know what the movie's about, though. I'll check out the synopsis first.
