Possible new addition to our family *update*

As some of you many have remembered from an earlier post i made ive been trying to find a large breed dog to add to our family, sadly all the dogs id been looking at didnt work out from not liking cats to being too rough for small dogs and some i just didnt feel right about. Ive been spending many many months checking rescue sites every day patiently waiting to find the right dog that would fit into our family and just when id given up on the idea and decided to get in touch with a registered breeder (my next option) i found this guy advertised on a dog forum im part of...

Tyson was rescued from the Pound at approx 12 weeks on the day he was due to be put to sleep. He has spent the last month putting on some much needed weight and once through his quarentine period - introduced to other dogs for socialisation.

Tyson is a Staffy cross (possibly Mastiff), he is approx 16-18 weeks old, fully vaccinated, wormed and will be desexed before going to his forever home. He has passed his health test with flying colours from the vet.

Tyson is a gorgeous puppy, he is confident and intelligent, and also the biggest smooch ever and loves nothing more then curling up in your lap! He is great with all other dogs, both large and small, fantastic with cats (sleeps with his head rested on them), and quiet in the car. He is friendly and outgoing but also will stop and listen to what you say.

I got in contact with her straight away and this is the reply i got.

I had a quick look through your past posts so I found the one with details on what you are looking for and Tyson does sound like he would fit in up there. He is absoloutely fantastic with my 3 dogs and my 3 cats (he likes to curl up and sleep with them ) and he seems to have all the attributes you are looking for in a dog. He really has the best of personalities as he is such an intelligent and outgoing boy - but he is also a big smooch and loves to cuddle up to you. He is very gentle and when meeting new dogs or cats he walks up slowly and has a sniff so he is not overbearing at all (I have tested him with a few different dogs and cats from my friends).

He is great at giving you attention and listening to you (also picks up things quickly) so he would be a great dog to do obedience/agility or whatever you wanted to do with him.

He is such a perfect match im almost in shock!

Ive replied to her a second time letting her know i am very interested in adopting but still waiting for a response. Im getting nervous! The pup is in NSW but the lady said she would consider interstate adoption IF it was the right home. Please please please cross all fingers and toes for me that she decides our family is where he should be.

Sincerely, Krystle.

We picked him up from the airport today. He gets along great with the dogs which was what i was realy worried about, i swear its like there isnt even another dog here the way that they act (altough pixie is a little nervous if he gets too close) And the biggest suprise of all, he didnt even care about the chickens, infact! As soon as we brought him home the chooks instantly stared assterting their dominance over him and he was actually scared of them! One thing i was suprised about was how skinny he was! You cant realy tell from the pic but all his ribs are showing, his hip bones stick out whilst his stomach sinks right in and he has hardly any fat on his body and very little muscle mass. He must have been very badly starved at some point. The whole family are in love with him. Oh and did i mention he already knows how to sit? And he is also the biggest sook, absolutely loves a snuggle. He is microchiped under the name of someone elce, not the name of the rescuer, must have been the person that owned him before dumping him in the pound..

Sincerely, Krystle.
