I'm a little bummed tonight

A guy I used to work with died last Friday night. He was 41. Fell over with a heart attack. Left an 11 Y/O little girl and a wife. 41. He'd never had any heart trouble that I ever heard. He did not drink or do drugs. I.m 46 and it made me wonder. I guess when your numbers up, you go. I think I'm gonna try to not sweat the small stuff so much and try to enjoy life day to day.

The more people I meet the more I love my cat!

Forty-one is so very young to die, Sparky. I'm not surprised that you're upset. He might have had a genetic weakness to heart trouble.

My sympathies to you on the loss of your friend and to his wife and daughter. I'm sure they're devastated. God bless.

So sorry for the loss of your friend. It's things like this that make it an eye opener that we "only live once". It's good that you are trying to not sweat the small things anymore.

Sorry again for your loss, especially since it was so sudden. My thoughts are with you and the family he left behind.

Last year, a fellow co-worker collapsed on the job where I work. And his position was NOT physically demanding either. A friend and I talked with him a lot in the cafeteria before our shift started. at 7am he was just fine. At 9am, he was being carted out on a stretcher to the hospital. A few hours later, he was pronouced dead due to a heart condition. What happened, I have no idea. And the vast majority of the people where I work lie like a sheet and would not know the truth if it ran them over. So to this day, I will never know the truth of the matter.

He was only 37.

I am sorry about your friend. 41 is very young, and it is very sad for his family.

Younger people who die of heart attacks usually have it happen because one of the arteries which supply blood to the heart muscle suddenly clogs off, and no oxygen can get to the muscle beyond the clot. In older people the clogging builds up over time and the heart actually has time to build up new blood paths ways around the clog so the muscle still gets some blood and oxygen.

I'm so sorry this happened to your friend. *Hugs* It does make you realize that at any time, no matter what, something can happen. It makes you take life slower and not sweat the little things, like you mentioned.
