Went To The Drs. Today...

I've been having some problems like with fatigue, shortness of breath, palpatations, and leg pain. I used to have a male doctor, but I'm 14 now so I want a female. So I went to this new doctor today and I like her. She listened to what I had to say, and right away did blood work and is checking everything. We have thyroid problems in our family, so my Mom is a hunch that maybe it's my thyroid that's causing all of my problems, so we'll know soon. The doctor said about Monday she'll call. I was kinda nervous today, but it was all good. The technician tried to take the blood from the left arm, and after her sticking me with this huge needle (ok, it looked huge to me ), and it hurting so bad, she had to go in the right arm. Got it there, but it hurt like heck! It's still sore, but she got it. So, here's to hoping we find out soon what's going on...

Oh yeah, after we came home, I went to my neighbor's and rode the horse for a little while. =)

Hopefully all will be fine. I used to get fatigue and heart palpatations etc. and they did a gazzillion of blood tests on me to check my iron(?) levels etc. Never found anything wrong, i eventually just grew out of it.

Sincerely, Krystle.

yeah, i wouldnt worry too much, too soon. Its probably either low iron or anxiety which is both common when you are that age. I still get the shortness of breath, fatigue and heart palpitations...all anxiety related. random occurences and often when i dont even feel anxious

Thanks Krystle, Cait! Knowing that makes me feel better...I'd hate for it to be something like thryoid.

Even issues with the thyroid can generally be managed with medication and very little hassle, so I wouldn't stress too too much about that either

I hope you feel better soon, Megan. I'm glad you found a doctor you like. Some people are just better at drawing blood than others, unfortunately. I always tell them I'm going to give them a grade.

Good one, Jeanie

I always ask if they can use a smaller needle, and most of the time they do.

When I got my last shot, the nurse asked me where I wanted it, so I told her, "Your arm."

All paws crossed that the blood work comes out ok. It's so important to have a doctor that you can talk to.
