Best Red Wine

What is the best fruitiest red wine? Something that isn't too strong but the closest thing to fruity or sweet. I'm trying to get my mom some red wine & the ones we've tried lately are really strong or dry.

I've always prefered Cabernet but it's not for everyone. Merlot taste musty and moldy to me. I always drink my reds at room temperature, too. Brings out the flavors much more. I can't drink reds at all anymore for some reason, they wreak havok on my system, but I occasionally enjoy a good Reisling (it's white but just as good as a red)

I've always loved a good cheap Lambrusco, too, but thats probably from my formative years as an Altar Boy.

Sweetness Code = Description = Grams of sugar per litre of wine
0 = Very dry = 0-5
1-2 = Off-dry = 5-25
3-4 = Medium = 25-45
5-6 = Sweet = 45-65
7-10 = Very sweet = 65-105+

Most people love Shiraz...its usually a pretty safe place to go...

and if your looking to impress without spending more than $20 per bottle....get Yellowtail. its the most popular and most drank wine in australia and a massive favorite for middle range wine drinkers worldwide...very easy to find

Best wine I've ever had is Bordeaux 1997-99.

What you're looking for, however, is Shiraz. Which isn't that bad if you get one of the older years.
