Prof. Randy Pausch has died...

Anyone else familiar with Prof. Randy Pausch's "last lecture." I first saw it last September after it was announced this guy had incurable pancreatic cancer and was given 3 to 6 months to live. He died this morning at home with his family at his side. Here's the Yahoo article:

I absolutely bawled while watching the video last year. He was such an inspiration to millions of people thanks to his "last lecture."

Here's a link to the YouTube video. It's 76 minutes long but if you have the time to sit and listen, please do yourself a favor and watch.

God Bless you, Randy Pausch. Rest In Peace. I pray that the inspiration you have given to millions has also inspired your family and that they find peace in knowing you have fulfilled so many of your childhood dreams.

Wow....

First time I've seen this, it's sad he's gone, but what an attitude to life and what a fantastic guy.

If I'm 1% as inspired as he seemed to be, I'll be a very happy man,

He was an amazing man, and I am sorry that he has passed.

I was so sad to see he had passed away. I kept such close tabs on his diary page. When I saw he hadn't made an entry for a couple of weeks, I kind of assumed he'd gone downhill, and was deeply saddened to hear he had passed away.

Here's his webpage. It's busy, so it's somewhat difficult to access it.

It's through Carnegie Mellon but also gives the link in which to follow his diary page.

I went to Barnes & Noble this evening and got his book based on his speech "The Last Lecture." I can't wait to dig into it! Until he died yesterday morning I didn't even know the book existed. The gal at Barnes & Noble said that when the book first came out a few months ago they couldn't keep it on the shelves! She said the store reordered it a couple of times and it sold so fast that the publisher did a reprint on it. She also told me that yesterday morning they received a company bulletin passing along the news of his death and forewarning their stores that the book was probably going to be selling fast again, and at least around here it has. She said she can't remember how many copies have been purchased since yesterday.

I just tried reaching the link you posted and after waiting quite a while I still couldn't get in. I will probably just logging on again in a few days when the news has worn off a bit.

Here's the direct link to his update page. It's long with the latest news up top. It really is an interesting read as to the progress and many setbacks that occurred, as well as photos of his family.

Hopefully you can access it.

Thanks, Terri. I managed to get into the diary late last night and read quite a bit of it. It was really neat to see all the pictures of the things the family has done in the last few months.

What an amazing person he was. He said he could not help but have fun. He made the most of his life, and taught us how fortunate we all are! What a loss to us. I'm glad we have the book and film which can continue to teach us and assuee that we remember this wonderful man.
