The Inaguaration

I have been watching CNN all morning and it is so exciting to see all of the people on the Mall in Washington who are singing and dancing, and just thrilled to be there. Amazing and extraordinary!!

Re: The Inaguaration

I'm already a traffic casualty of the Inauguration. Even after miles of overhead signs saying the Metro station parking lot was full at 6:30 a.m., there were literally thousands of cars still trying to get in there, causing a long back-up to get onto the Beltway. I'd love to be down there, if only you could snap your fingers and be there.

Re: The Inaguaration

I've read about it on the BBC news website today and I'm quite interested in what he says in his speech. But the media attention over here is way OTT. You'd think he was the saviour of the world, rather than a US president.

No doubt, I'll be watching the swearing in bit and the speech regardless, just out of interest. I've never watched a inauguration before. And I think it would be kinda cool to be there, just to soak up the atmosphere.

Re: The Inaguaration

I don't think I've ever watched an inauguration. But I'm watching my first one today since I'm home with a bad headache. Obama is a good speaker! I'll give him that!

Re: The Inaguaration

Yes, very cool to see the absolutely monster crowds!!!

CNN/Facebook worked, but ABC News video feed was crashed...

Obama's speech was suitably soaring I loved the music piece but was not too inspired by the poem .

Gracie has been sitting next to me watching. I think she gets that this is an event!

Re: The Inaguaration

It was absolutely great. We had about 50 people crammed into the lunch room to watch it on a big screen TV, and you could have heard a pin drop.

Re: The Inaguaration

I have to say, as a foreign national, there were a few sentences in that speech that made me slightly uncomfortable, but all in all, it was very inspirational.

Not that you need it from someone like me, but for now at least, you have my support Obama.
