It's 40 degrees out

and I have the patio door ajar to let all the four-leggeds in the house come and go as they please!

It's only open as wide as my dog Peanut is so it's not even a foot. I just shut the furnace off so it doesn't kick in when the indoor temp drops a few degrees.

Luckily, there isn't a bit of wind (I typed that real quiet so as not to disturb the air pressure and cause gail force or anything ) so the temp inside the house should only drop about 3 degrees by the time hubby and the kids get back home.

Ahhhhh, the smell of spring is in the air! Ok, not really but I'm trying to be positive. There's still at least 2-1/2 feet of snow all across the yard.

Re: It's 40 degrees out

I hope you're right about Spring, Jo. Our temperature is 34 right now, but is going up to 40 for the next 5 days.

I couldn't tolerate turning the furnace off, though. I'm cold with it on! And I have a fire in the fireplace every day. I REALLY hate winter. I'm never comfortable, and have to take a hot shower to get warm. I think I'll make myself happy by thinking of sitting in the hot sun, with the temperature around 83 outside. AHHHhhhhh! I'll need a tall iced tea with lots of lemon and ice, please!

Re: It's 40 degrees out

The warm air just hit us today as well. When I left for work this morning it was 5 degrees, and now we're up to 40.
Heat wave!!

Funny thing, though, is that when I heard the temp on the radio this morning, they said it was 5 degrees on the side of town where I am, and 15 degrees on the other side. weird!

Re: It's 40 degrees out

lol, I thought you meant 40 degrees celsius! I was going to say, it's going to be 44 degrees (111.2 fahrenheit) here today with lots of wind... the worst bush fire conditions since Ash Wednesday's fires, I heard.

That IS quite a difference, isn't it?

I sure hope officials don't encounter any real bad fires down under.

I don't know how you guys do it...I don't think I could handle a cold climate! If anyone wants to come visit, the high a little over 70 today.
