I need help counting

I know it sounds stupid...

The woman I was pet sitting for (the horror story that never seems to end) is home early - she broke her foot and couldn't continue what she was doing. She emailed me to find out my address so she can send me a check for what she owes me. However, there seems to be a difference in how the two of us count. So before I respond, I'd like some input.

My first day was December 15th. My last day was January 21st.

How many days would you consider that?

Jessie

Re: I need help counting

It's 38. Including the 15th. of December, there are 17 days plus the 21 days in January. Poor Jesse. Is she giving you a hard time?

38, too.

17 days in December (15-31)
21 days in January (1-21)
38 days total

Re: I need help counting

I got 38, too. How could it be different? Everyone uses the same calender, with 31 days in December.

See, I'm not stupid.

Somehow she's getting 36 days.

Just wanted a couple of opinions before I corrected her. Thanks

Re: I need help counting

Does she think she can "dock" you for the first and last days, because she considers those to be "partial days"?
How chicken**** is that, Jessie, after all you've done, and all the very long days you've worked?

Re: I need help counting

She has paid me half for partial days in they past - but it would still sort of average the two "partials" as one "full" and make it 37. I'm really hoping she just slipped up.

At least the tone of her email seemed pretty friendly.

Fingers and paws crossed that it was just an honest mistake.

Re: I need help counting

dont ever let people only pay for partial days. Full days or nothing is the way I do it. This woman is such a piece of work. Good riddence to her. I still feel sorry for her animals though.
