A Happy Story

One of the perks of fostering is you meet and make friends with wonderful people. Some retired neighbors down the street from me adopted two of my fosters~ Sally and Chili Bean. They are thriving in their home. They emailed me this. Id love to share it with you.

Merry,
You ready for a sweet story? We are walking home from Mass on Tuesday when close to your home we saw this red headed little sparrow standing along side the street. He didn't appear to be frightened so we approached him. He was just a young bird, probably just out of the nest. But he was blind and when he tried to fly he just would go up a few feet and make a circle and land. He didn't know where he was or what to do. At first we thought we should just leave him and let mother nature takes its course. But I got very close and it looked like his eyes had been pecked out. We decided to capture him and check out his eyes. We took him home and got Sallys eye medicine and a q tip. We soaked his eyes with the medicine and I very gently cleaned the goop away and finally we found two good eyes. He could see and he got pretty nasty when he knew I was holding him. We let him go in our back yard and he flew up into a tree, shook his head and flew away to a happy life.

They sound like really good people to go out of their way to help this little bird.
