St Paddies Day fun

Does anyone have plans for Tuesday? I might go to the parade,or a party,OR I might just settle for bringing in green cupcakes for the gang at work. Drink some dark beer...Barqs,or A and W,preferably. Is Riverdance still touring?

LOVE A&W and Barq's!

Sis and her son are flying in today and will visit for the week. We'll probably put a corned beef brisket in the crock pot with some potatoes, carrots and cabbage for a nice St. Paddy's Day meal.

I'm going to a house party tonight for St. Patrick's Day. Lime-tinis. (Martinis with sweet Mexican limes)

I'll probably get all crazy and dance like puppet-girl!

Aye, I'll be wearin' the green, and hoisting one or two.

Forgive me for being all out of tradition, but what's the deal about wearing green on St. Patrick's Day? Are you supposed to wear green if you're Irish or supposed to if you're not? I don't have one ounce of Irish blood in me.

Re: St Paddies Day fun

I'll be celebrating St. Patricks over at my house tomorrow as that's when the family always comes over for dinner. BIL is making the corned beef [flat cut], little potatoes, cabbage & carrots [which I like the least of all]. I'll be eating it with horseradish sauce [totally yummy]. Desert will be a chocolate mint cake from the bakery at Jewel. Can hardly wait. It's a once a year taste treat for sure!

Chicago had their big annual St. Patrick's Day parade today & dyed the Chicago River green in honor of the day.

Pittsburgh had its St. Patrick's Day parade too. There is a large Irish population in W. PA, so we have one of the biggest parades.

Re: St Paddies Day fun

The annual Metairie St Patrick's parade featuring Mardi Gras-style floats and trucks rolls on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Noon.
If I should lose all touch with reality, and leave here by three or four in the morning, I could be there in time for the party.
Look out Marie!

Re: St Paddies Day fun

Dallas had their parade yesterday.
We started out the day with green eggs and ham at our local bistro - for free.

My older son went to the parade and partied on lower Greenville for a couple of hours. He was mugged just before getting on the DART rail just before dusk. He is fine, the guy just got some cash. I was happy the guy didin't use his knife. And I feel like my son was partly at fault - he just wasn't paying attention to his surroundings, a huge no-no. And no, he wasn't drunk.
