I love swing and rockabilly type music. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was on Dancing with the Stars tonight with a new song, and news that a new albu, will be out next week! Their last album was in 1998, which I still love.

Track Listing

1. Come On With The "Come On"
2. Calloway Boogie They did this tonight and it was GREAT!!!
3. Call Of The Jitterbug
4. Hey Now (Hey Now)
5. Jumpin' Jive
6. How Big Can You Get?
7. Old Man of the Mountain
8. Ghost of Smokey Joe
9. Reefer Man
10. Minnie The Moocher Remember Cab Calloway in the Blues Brothers?!?!
11. Tarzan of Harlem

I love BBVD. Saw them at the Big E Fair, probably 10 years ago or so, they were great.

I checked their website for tour dates, but nothing even remotely close to West Virginia. Some day

Re: Do you like swing? I am SO excited

I have one BBVD cd and I love it. I would love for my husband and I to learn swing dancing. We like to dance in the driveway when we are working in the yard/garage and a good song comes on. We smile when cars drive by and honk at us.

I don't recognize any of those. I thought swing was Bennie Goodman, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Artie Shaw, Harry James, ........... ???

No, I'm not THAT old. I worked for a radio station once that played that music, and learned to like it.

I don't make it a point to listen to swing music but when I was in high school I played bass keyboard in swing band. That IS fun music!

Tim I guess you would call this modern day swing or big band? They have the whole orchestra along the lines of Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey, with new songs.

My parents were teenagers during the 40's and my Mom still had her records so my sister and I would listen to them when we were growing up. We played one Andrews Sisters album to death. I still know most of the words to the songs.

I'm not that old either, but I love that old music. When my dad passed away I got all of his old CDs. He used to write home from the South Pacific during WWII and many of the old bands and thier songs were referenced in his letters. He would have been 87 today.

Is there anything online I could see or listen to free, to get an idea of what it is? Youtube maybe? What keywords would you suggest using to search?

Re: Do you like swing? I am SO excited

Katlover- Happy Birthday to your Dad. How cool that music made such a difference for him when he was at war. I'm sure that you miss him, and I hope that listening to his CDs makes you feel like you are getting a hug from him.

Tim- Here they are on you tube playing Go Daddy O http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMFjFjBS-2k. Can't find anything from their new album yet. I did find that the new album is a tribute to Cab Calloway.
