1st nice day here in Iowa and I'm sick!

I went to the doctor yesterday and he gave me Amoxicillin to take 3 times a day. He didn't really tell me what it was, but my throat hurts so bad that I can hardly swallow the pills. I'll try to go to work and see what happends. I may just have to tell them that I need to leave because the pain is killing me.

Don't you hate being sick on the first nice day of the year!
(maybe I should go to petsmart and adopt that cute black boy cat! that would make me feel better! hehe)

Sorry you're feeling bad but YAY! for the nice weather.

It sounds like strep throat to me. Either that or he's one of those docs that just gives you pills without testing to see if you really need them.

Amoxicillan is an antibiotic in the penicillan family.

I have heard great things about using adopted cats to cure illnesses. I think they [cats] are the best of the homeopathic remedies available to us.

Re: 1st nice day here in Iowa and I'm sick!

I really wish I could take that little guy home with me, but we have 2 cats in an apartment right now. The guy said that 2 or 3 cats was fine, so I'm really thinking about it. And it would be so easy to talk my boyfriend into doing to too. He is already fixed and has all his shots. He is 4 months old, black medium hair with a little white patch on his chest. I've never had a boy cat before, I would love to have one!

(Would 3 cats, 2 rats (caged), and 8 geckos (caged) be too much? lol)

Oh yeah, I called in sick to work today as well. I didn't go yesterday, but they called me seeing if I could go in early and when they heard me on the phone they said, "You should go to the doctor and not come in today."

Um, yeeeeaaaaahhhhh....I think that was probably a good call to keep everyone else from coming down with 'the crud'! I hope you feel better soon.

Hopefully once the antibiotic will kick in soon- usually 24-48 hours after you first start taking it. Just make sure that you use up the entire prescription even if you are feeling better!

Of course another little kitten won't be too much- you'll hardly notice him .

I'm not an advocate of alcohol in general, but Rockin' Rye, a tsp. as needed, is wonderful for a sore throat!
