Pictures from our vacation to the southwest

It started out as plans to travel to Las Vegas for bf's sister's wedding and ended up being the best vacation of my life (which I suppose doesn't say too much because I haven't been on a real vacation in nearly a decade, but it was still fantastic).

Over ten days at the end of February we drove through 10 states for a total of over 4000 miles. I took hundreds of photos. Here are just a few

The view was rather boring until we reached the Colorado Rockies

As sort of a spur of the moment thing, we decided to make a stop at Arches National Park, UT. I'm glad we did as it turned out to be one of my favorite places during the entire trip. Unfortunately we only had a couple of hours to spend there. I wish we could have stayed all day.

One of the Window arches

Utah was amazing. This place is Black Dragon Canyon

Somewhere in Fishlake Nat Forest

Las Vegas was an interesting experience. It was neat to see, but I was glad to leave.
New York New York Hotel & Casino, one of the coolest looking places on the strip

The famous fountains at the Bellagio

We drove over Hoover Dam on the road from Las Vegas to AZ

And stopped at a Gas Station along route 66 in AZ. The famous Roadkill Cafe was just down the street.

To be continued.... Will post more photos later!

Hey, no making fun of the Roadkill Cafe. That's where my Mom learned to cook. Apparently.

Wonderful pictures! Sounds like a great trip.

Hey, you went through 10 states and failed to take a picture of the spectacular miles and miles of flat land nothingness in North Dakota? Just kidding.

Seriously, great pictures!

You took my trip! I have always wanted to get in a car and just drive west to see all that there is to see. You took beautiful photos and I can't wait to see more.

I can't believe how low Lake Meade is!!

You can kinda see the waterlines at the top of the wall where the water was when I was there in 2000.

Hoover Dam is awesome.

Great pictures! I was at Arches about 5 years ago and have been dying to go back ever since. We think we're going this fall. It's too bad you didn't have more time, because there's also Canyonlands National Park 30 miles from there, along with a couple other state parks that are just amazing.

Wonderful pictures...I was in Oregon once for 3 weeks and what a beautiful state that is.

As much as man made buildings are impressive, we can't ever make anything as beautiful as nature makes
