Shots from our patio this morning.

The bluebirds have been actively doing something in the bird house in the back yard. I see them everyday, going in and out, and I'm hoping they build in there to raise their young this year. Alot of times, they'll pretend like they are going to build, and then up and move, so I'm really hoping they'll stay. So while I was waiting to catch Mr. Bluebird, I snapped these visitors as well.

And finally............he showed himself, though he is a little out of range for my lens.

Thank you! I'm kind of learning/practicing, as I go through the manual that came with the camera. Nikon puts an awesome manual in with their cameras I must say. Lots to learn yet!

Beautiful, all of them! The bluebird is so lovely. I've never seen one in the wild.

Beautiful shots, Geri! Your new camera rocks. And you always take such great photos.

A word to the wise, though: Don't let the doves nest, or roost, on or near your house.
Believe me, you don't want to find out about bird mites the hard way.

Re: Shots from our patio this morning.

Thank you all!

John, the doves do roost here sometimes. When you look out the patio, especially on a cold day, you can see 6 or 7 of them huddled close in the same tree. Personally, not my favorite bird, but they sure keep the cats entertained on the patio!

Jeanie........maybe you should come to visit! You could hug a Spot, and see bluebirds in the wild, all at once.
