2 more baby goats

We are finally done with kidding season!! Woohoo!

Orchy who was bred to a REALLY nice buck kidded with a buck and doe. I was very excited to get my doeling from this breeding. Obviously, she's a keeper. LOL.

The doeling is the black kid.

So we ended kidding season with a total of 5 does kidding. We ended up with 12 kids. 6 does 6 bucks.

2 doelings and my first freshener were sold last month. I'm down to only selling 2 bucklings and a wether. Wish I could get them sold soon!

Re: 2 more baby goats

What is a freshener? Is that a first time pregnant doe? Or a doe who has come into heat and not been bred?

Freshen- When the doe kids.
First Freshener- The first time she kids.

So my one doe was a first freshener because that was her first set of kids. Delilah is a 2nd freshener because this was her 2nd set of kids...ect ect.

Thanks!! Wish I could get photos of them playing. We are having a cold snap so they are stuck inside for the time being.

Re: 2 more baby goats

I want to thank you so much for answering all of my questions and not making me feel dumb! Even though I had pygmy goats when I was in High School, I didn't really know much about them. My step-dad brought them to me because he was moving someone who had them and couldn't take them with them. Dad & Mom owned/operated a moving/storage business that moved people all over the country. When I couldn't keep the darn things contained on our property, I sold them all.
