Topsy Turvy

Hubby wants to know if anyone has tried these, and if they work? He wonders if the tomatoe plants will just pull out when they get a bunch of heavy tomatoes on them?

I was just watching a commercial about those and wondering the same thing. If they work it would be really neat.

My mother mentioned these to me too....

Here's an instruction sheet on them. Looks like there's a collar with foam to hold the plant while it's small. Once it takes root it should be fine.

It would be fun to try, wouldn't it? (but much more expensive!) All hanging plants need to be watered more often though, as Smirkitty mentioned.

LOL! We must all be watching the same TV station or something. I saw it for the first time about a half hour ago. Honestly, I have my doubts about it for some of the same reasons that Geri brought up. Roots are gravitational and will always tend to grow down so how on Earth can the plant live in that setup and be stable?

Re: Topsy Turvy

Well, I think we'll maybe just try a couple tomato plants in pots on the patio then. Hubby wants to make a garden so bad, but we have so many deer and rabbits around here, unless he puts up a really sturdy fence, the plants will just get eaten by one or the other. They are in the yard everyday, and I think that's alot of work just to feed the deer!
