Kindness Ranch in Wyoming

http://www.kindnessranch.citymax.com/home.html

The mission of the Kindness Ranch: American Sanctuary for Research Animals is to rescue and rehabilitate animals formerly used in research and to provide them with safe and secure homes for the rest of their lives.

Looks like a very cool place.

The first phase has been financed by Dr David Groobman and has a recommendation by Marc Bekoff who is a co founder along with Jane Goodall of the organization Ethologist for the Ethical Treatment of Animals: Citizens for Responsible Animal Behavior Studies. Marc Bekeoff is the author of The Emotional Lives of Animals and more books besides!

I thought the hard core animal lovers here would enjoy seeing this new place.

That's a very impressive place! What a great specialty, to provide a home for animals that have been used in research.

Wow. What a lovely place.

I know animal research is necessary (and, yes, it is necessary, whether we like it or not ... which I dont, hence why my scientific research is entirely computer based!) but it always saddens me to think about it.

Glad that at least some are eventually finding lovely forever homes.

Re: Kindness Ranch in Wyoming

Even if we have to have research in this manner, its the way animals are housed and treated during their stay is what hurts me. My son and I go round and round about this. He went to medical school and doesnt have the same affinity for animals that I have. He see them in a different light. Which I think alot of people in the medical field do also.

Atleast these animals will know life can be good and they can be happy and safe. A happy ending.

Those animals must think they're in heaven! What a wonderful idea.

I couldn't handle hearing the details of how they're treated, either. I'd rather support an organization like this that's trying to do something about it.

What a neat place! I love they way they sounded excited about getting 20 new animals in last month! What a positive way to look at things, which I imagine, only makes the experience that much better for the animals staying there!

What a wonderful place! I love the picture with the rainbow. I bet some of those animals feel like they have found the end of the rainbow!
