Fire season has started

And I just saw on the news there's a fire about 1.3 miles from my house. My first instinct was to jump up from my desk and run home.

But if it gets any closer or they can't control it pretty soon, I'm outta here!

I was just telling someone yesterday that my whole cul-de-crap is a fire hazard, especially with the huge field behind my house.

Update - the fire is under control! Whew!

We're having very hot, dry weather this week. Hopefully, the military base will be smart enough to NOT have live-ammo drills, and nobody will be doing any controlled burns. Both of these things have started huge fires in the past. You'd think people would have more common sense than that.

I always worry about you when I hear there is a fire in Ca. Thank goodness they have it under control so quickly.

No rain coming our way in the near future. Just more hot weather.

That's your second instinct. I'm sure your first is to hide under the bed with the kids..

Wouldn't you be safer in Oklahoma with all the fires and earth quakes?

I'd rather live with earthquakes and fires.

Yeah-ha-ha-ha-hah! NO tornados for me! I'd take earthquakes ANY day ... but I'm not so sure about the fires. Fire is my biggest fear. Well, second biggest fear. My first one is spiders. Third is Jaws. Hey!...I never said I was normal.

Stay safe and keep the carriers handy. You can e-vac to our house.
