Two thousand ten or twenty ten?

What are you calling this year? I say, "Two thousand ten." "Twenty-ten" just doesn't flow!

My co-worker makes fun of me and says Twenty Ten which I don't like. I agree it doesn't flow.

If you call it Twenty Ten, why didn't you call it Twenty o Nine? Inconsistency.

At some point I think we have to bite the bullet and switch over to twenty ten. I mean, we're not going to keep this up .... two thousand thirty-six? Two thousand eighty-nine?

My selection isn't available. I say Two-Ten.
All my life the year was stated as only two numbers; Nineteen and whatever the other two numbers were, like Nineteen Seventy-eight for 1978. That is what sounds natural to my ear.
When the turn of the century occured I said Two Thousand, then Two Thousand and One - Two - Three or I simplified it as '01 (Oh One) through '09.
I think people like to be expedient but also have the date sound pleasing when spoken.

Still calling it twenny ten, as I was when this was last discussed here.
1999 wasn't one thousand nine hundred and ninety nine was it? 2000s were a pain, and now we're back to linguistic normality.

For some reason, it doesn't roll of my tongue well. Probably by 2036, I'll be so old and senile, I'll still think I'm in 2001. Or I might be one of those cranky old women who insist on saying two thousand and thirty six even if I'm the only one saying it.
